RCN MEDICAL MISSIONS REPORTING 3RD Monthly Free Antenatal Clinic for Pregnant Women in the IDP Mega Camp (OCTOBER EDITION) 23rd October, 2025 Background, team The RCN Missions’ Hospital was commissioned in year 2024 with its mission of providing affordable, accessible and high-quality healthcare, driven by love and guided by faith. The institution is devoted to delivering top-tier services that prioritize the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of patients. The hospital is physically located in Makurdi Benue State, however, her reach extends beyond Makurdi to the far ends of Nigeria even reaching to distant and rural communities of the country. This is achieved through her three core programmes which include; AromeCare (Medical Missions/Outreaches) DinnaCare (Women and Children Health Support Programme) DOCcare (Dedicated Organisation for Communities Care/Community Health Interventions) Free Monthly ANC Programme In line with the Sustainable Developmental Goal 3.1 (SDG 3.1) target to reduce maternal, fetal and neonatal mortality rate and the Every Newborn Action Plan (ENAP) to reduce stillbirth rate and reduce newborn mortality rate, RCN Medical Center intends to meet the dire need for provision of Antenatal care services for the residents of the IDP Camp, by conducting a Free Monthly ANC for pregnant women resident in the IDP Mega Camp, along Ortom road, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria. Activities: Pre-visit: Official approval to commence the free monthly ANC at the IDP Mega camp was gotten from the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA) and the collaboration was sealed with the Management of the IDP Camp. Visit: The third free monthly ANC was done on the 23rd October, 2025. Post-visit: Three women were brought to the RCN Medical Center for advanced care due to their presenting history and obstetric examination. Beneficiaries Pregnant women residing in the IDP Mega Camp Aims / Goals Providing affordable, accessible and high-quality healthcare, driven by love and guided by faith is the core purpose of the RCN Medical Missions. The aim of the intervention is to reduce maternal, fetal and neonatal mortality rate in Nigeria with the specific target population being the women in the IDP Mega Camp. Impact assessment Qualitative: During the visitation, the word of God was to the women, they had their vital signs checks, laboratory investigations, medical consultation with the O & G specialists and free Ultrasound scanning and they all received free medications. Quantitative: Impact in Numbers; In total, 37 women were attended to. During the clinic, the team was visited by the Honorable Commissioner of for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management; Hon. Kunde Aondowase, he met with the MD/DM as well as the DD of Clinical Services and expressed gratitude to the Remnant Christian Network for the work that they continue to do in reaching out to the needs of the people. Medical Missions Vital Summary Statistics Major outcomes and impact from the Antenatal Clinic that held on 28th of August, 2025 The vital signs of all the women were checked and those with concerns were highlighted and the proper intervention (counselling/medication) was given All the women had investigations done including blood and urine tests, some of them were having the tests done for them for the first time. All the women were opportune to have the ultrasound scan done for them. The women were opportune to speak with the Doctors who are O&G specialists All the women received medications (especially routine drugs, which some of them did not have access to prior to the ANC clinic). It was also observed that a few women who did not reside in the IDP camp and could not afford Antenatal services were informed of the free clinic and came to receive care, these were also attended to. Testimonials / Case stories: Review of Postnatal Cases Two of the three women who were beneficiaries of the September edition of the monthly Antenatal clinic and had the privilege of being taken to RCN Medical Center for their delivery were also seen reviewed and given additional financial assistance to aid the care of the newborns. Another woman who has been identified earlier was also provided with financial assistance. Referral to and Care of three of the women at the RCN Medical Center with Delivery of three live Babies The particular cases that were identified for Follow-up/Referral were taken up by RCN Medical Mission, and transported to RCN Medical Center for proper care. To the glory of God we recorded delivery of three live babies on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of this month, October. They were cared for and the babies were taken for their initial immunizations at the Federal Medical Center, Makurdi before transported to the camp safely. Team composition: 2 Doctors (O&G specialists) 2 Nurses Pharmacist and Pharm Tech. 1 Medical Lab Scientist 2 Lab Technicians Transportation logistics officer
