RCN MEDICAL MISSIONS REPORTING Monthly Free Antenatal Clinic for Pregnant Women in the IDP Mega Camp 25th September, 2025 1. Background / Team The RCN Missions’ Hospital, commissioned in 2024, operates with the mission of providing affordable, accessible and high-quality healthcare driven by love and guided by faith. Although located in Makurdi, Benue State, its reach extends to the far ends of Nigeria through its core programmes: • AromeCare (Medical Missions/Outreaches) • DinnaCare (Women and Children Health Support Programme) • DOCcare (Community Health Interventions) 2. Free Monthly ANC Programme Aligned with SDG 3.1 and the Every Newborn Action Plan (ENAP), RCN Medical Center conducts monthly free ANC for pregnant women in the IDP Mega Camp along Ortom Road, Makurdi. The programme aims to reduce maternal, fetal and neonatal mortality among displaced and underserved women. 3. Activities Pre-visit: Approval was obtained from BSEMA and collaboration established with camp management. Visit: The second free monthly ANC held on 25 September 2025. Post-visit: Critical cases identified for follow-up and referral included: • 1 Premature Rupture of Membranes • 1 Post-dated pregnancy with placental insufficiency • 1 Post-dated pregnancy • 1 Woman discovered to be in labour (4cm dilated) Due to poor referral systems in the camp clinic, RCN arranged an ambulance and transported the affected women to RCN Medical Center for proper care. 4. Beneficiaries Pregnant women residing in the IDP Mega Camp, Makurdi. 5. Aims / Goals To reduce maternal, fetal and neonatal mortality by providing continuous, high-quality antenatal care to vulnerable pregnant women in the IDP camp. 6. Impact Assessment Qualitative: Women received: • Vital signs check • Laboratory investigations • Medical consultations with O&G specialists • Free ultrasound scans • Spiritual counselling and prayer • Free medications Quantitative: Total women attended to: **25** 7. Vital Summary Statistics • All women had full vital signs assessment. • All had blood and urine tests (for some, their first ever diagnostic test). • All had ultrasound scans. • All consulted with O&G specialists. • All received routine medications (some lacked access previously). • Strong need identified for family planning education and supply. 8. Testimonials / Case Stories RCN took responsibility for the complicated cases and transported three women to RCN Medical Center. • Two live births recorded on 26th September. • One live birth recorded on 27th September. Babies received initial immunizations at Federal Medical Center, Makurdi before being safely returned to the camp. 9. Team Composition • 3 Medical Practitioners • 4 Nurses (Registered Nurses & Midwives) • Pharmacist & Pharmacy Technician • 2 Laboratory Technicians • Pastor • Admin Officer • Transportation Logistics Officer 10. Feedback • Women expressed deep gratitude. • Some personally requested referral to RCN Center. • Camp managers noted that no organization provides medical care in the camp. • Camp clinic staff stated that RCN’s intervention was timely and life-saving. 11. Evaluation from Last Month • Team arrived earlier than the previous clinic. • More personnel were available, improving workflow efficiency. End of Report.
